Joe's Automaton
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
In this simulator, you can make your own automation just like any other Joe could! Essentially, this is Conway's Game of Life but now you can change the rules to whatever you'd like!
..To be honest though, this has been possible for a while, these are two browser-based projects that allow you to change the rules of Conway's Game of Life.

However, our simulator is downloadable, has beautiful UI, includes incredible adaptive music, and is much more customizable. We are excited to see what beautiful designs and complex automatons the community is going to create with this!
WARNING: This game may contain flashing images and trigger seizures in those with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.

Install instructions
Mac users - Download and unzip the .zip file, and the app should appear. Click on that to open the project.
Windows users - Download and unzip the .zip file, and then open the .exe in the folder. Do not move the data_ folder or the game will not be able to run after the title screen.
While creating a rule set, take caution to create a rule set that doesn't visually change too much because the simulator can easily make flashing automatons.
